In 1998 Wispra acquired point-to-point fixed wireless radio licenses at 38 GHz in major cities across Canada for the provision of broadband wireless communications. In 1999 Wispra formed Wispra Networks Inc. together with TD Capital and XO Communications. Wispra Networks acquired broadband fixed licenses at 24 GHz in six major cities across Canada in Canada's first spectrum auction. In 2001 Wispra formed W2N Inc. together with Brascan, Goldman Sachs and Providence Ventures. W2N holds Personal Communications Services (PCS) licenses at 1.9 GHz in British Columbia, Alberta and eastern Quebec acquired in Canada's second spectrum auction. Wispra has provided consulting services to emerging wireless communications companies in Europe and the Americas. |
